It’s winter in Chicago. They predicted a serious storm here yesterday, but it was mostly a bust up around the city. Farther south it was very serious, including forty or so drivers who were stranded on Highway 1 and had to be rescued by snowmobile. What an ordeal.
I figured I’d stop by and share a couple things with you, Dear Reader. Firstly, I have a post about Triberr for my writer and blogging buddies out there. I am a latecomer to the platform. I didn’t join in early on because I had so many other balls in the air, but the amazing Kayelle Allen of Marketing For Romance Writers suggested we give it a try and so I’ve been playing with it for a few months. I share my insights and thoughts over on LinkedIn; join me. I’d love to hear your thoughts about it.
Today, I’m over at the Torquere Press LiveJournal with a bunch of photos from our recent field trip to the Field Museum. For those of you unfamiliar with Chicago, this is one of the world’s foremost anthropology museums. I adore their collection of totem poles, as well as their Egypt section (you can walk around inside a pyramid!) and the Maori Meeting House. Come on by!
It’s my husband’s birthday this weekend, so we’re heading off to Galena, Illinois, for a quiet weekend of touristing. Which brings me to a question – but first, to preface it. My husband got a new job (yay!), but he’s a contractor and has no vacation pay for the near future (boo!). So instead of having a summer vacation, we’re going to do a couple smaller weekend getaways.
What weekend trips sound fun to you, Dear Reader? I need ideas!
