Wednesday’s Wild Ride Around the Web with Aunt Noony

Yes, it’s 8 degrees F here. And F doesn’t stand for Fahrenheit. IT’S COLD! Image © 2015 by A. Catherine Noon; All Rights Reserved

Welcome to a very, very cold February day in Chicago, Illinois!  It’s supposed to be even colder tomorrow.  Oh, wait – it’s nine degrees, not eight.  Yippee.  With wind chill, it’s minus twelve.  This is getting old, people.  I know it’s winter and all, but sheesh.  My shivers have shivers.

I listen to music when I write.  One of my stations has a lot of Irish music and vocals, and I came across a lovely rendition of Star of the County Down.  Check it out:

It’s got a neat slide show with it, which is fun to watch.  But even if you don’t watch, listening to it is well worth it.

This week I have some fun stuff – including a giveaway!  First up, I have a Sunday Box Talk up on my blog.

I have two from the Noon and Wilder blog, and the Sunday Journal almost made me pull a muscle.  I found the most awesome image on loldogs.  Check it out here.  Then there’s Monday Morning Pages, here.

The BDSM-a-palooza is on today and tomorrow at the Smutketeers!  I’m participating with 50 other fabulous authors and the amazing ladies of the Smutketeers – there will be daily prizes, a grand prize with gifts from all of us, and more fun than you can shake a whip at.

Remember the Nice Girls Writing Naughty will be hosting a very special event –

Fantasy Date Night with the Nice Girls and their friends, Feb 21st, on our Facebook group from 6:00p to 11:00p Eastern Standard Time.

I have a free workshop, and I’d love for you to come play with me!  You’re welcome even if you come late to the party – there’s plenty of strawberries and chocolate to go around!

Here’s a bit more info:

Too often, writers assume that creativity is a matter of luck or rare talent.  But author A. Catherine Noon shows us that each of us can write and unleash our inner creativity.  In a one-month online workshop that draws on exercises and games, Catherine helps us identify the core values and strategies that will help us tap into our own creative potential, whether we’re “serious authors” or just writers who enjoy the written word.  It is a workshop that will help each of us be more productive and successful with our writing and to sustain our creative output.

You need to be a member of CTR to participate, but it’s free.  Here’s the link so you can join us.

And now, for the giveaway you’ve been waiting for!  Fellow Nice Girl Nona Raines is doing a raffle and you can enter to win a $25 Amazon gift card! Her story HIS KIND OF WOMAN is featured this week.  Please visit and support her – and maybe you’ll win a gift card, to boot!

That’s all from me today.  What’s up in your world?  Tell me in the comments; I’d love to know!

  1. Lots of cool stuff today, Catherine! Hugs on the cold! I’m home with the kiddios today but it’s only for a sheet of ice. If we got 8 inches down here, we’d been housebound for a week! 😉

    • Thanks, Dani! Yeah, it’s all relative. I have friends in Fargo, North Dakota, so I can’t really whine about how cold it is. There, it gets too cold to snow on a routine basis. o.O…
